[Manic Mondays]

This is the big crunch time of year for me. I'm supposed to be doing a bigger show this weekend but it was super far away and I kind of ran out of fucks to give to be completely honest. Instead, I will be doing 100 Minute War mostly due to fat kid reasons - the chef who does day board is a chef in his "real" life so the food is amazing. But also because I am having a harder and harder time dealing with "the general public" at craft shows. If there are no food trucks, people beating each other with sticks, Pagans or punk rock music, I just . . .can't. Sunday, we'll be attending my nephew's birthday party.

Hopefully, Jow and I will have enough energy after the party to start our video blog, Old Gods and Indoor Plumbing (which was long ago dubbed "The Deb 'n Jow Cooking Show" by Gordon). We've been doing test shots to figure out the lighting and where to put the iPad (in the microwave and in the dish cabinet, for the curious) and you'll get to see the chef stool in all its ugly glory. It will take me a little bit to get my shit together enough to pull together an intro and edit what we actually do, so hopefully a week or two from now. The plan for the vblog is to talk magic, cook something, demo magic without actually doing magic (a step by step), talk housewifery, talk glamour and prattle as we tend to do.

Our tentative layout for episode one ("Funnel of Love"):

Menu:

Ravished Red Wine

Rare London Broil in Red Wine

Roasted Pearl Onions

Blistered Radishes

Garlic Smashed Potatoes

Vampire's Kiss Cookies

Topics:
How to dress like the Queen of the Damned in your 30s

How to dress grown up goth for boy-identified

The Glamour of the Vampire

Blood Magic Talk & Demo

A Reading from the Vampire Tarot

So, besides trying to do that, I'm also trying to get my shit together for the new limited edition scents (. . .can I tell you how gratifying it is to have clients at shows asking what the next limited editions will be and recommending their favorite scents to new clients?), some new ritual cords I'm working on, new vigil candles, new bath teas, new silk chiffon scarves, my new goddess dollies and get my Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale in order. Pssst, it's going to be v. big this year since I now only do them semi-annually.

Needless to say, my house is wrecked and I'm wrecked too. Today I'll work nine hours, go home and make the bath teas and limited edition scents and pack out for my show tomorrow. Hopefully go to bed at a decent time. I've been working on a piece that speaks of sex and desperation/ I've been screwing on the tracks of abandoned railway stations/ It's a mad house/ this modern life/ It's a mad house/ my faithless bride.

I'd watch that video, too. I need fashion advice, always.

I would totally watch that video.
30yo Queen of the Damned will be very helpful - Corporate Goth is great for what it is, but it's also Corporate, and thus not really what I'm going for as a Fabulous Artiste.
Also looking forward to the food.
